Yes. The skinSOOTHE range is renowned for its gentleness. Our range has been specifically formulated to be kind to sensitive skin, including those of babies. Less is more when it comes to sensitive skin, so we kept our formulas simple yet effective. Preservatives (even the natural ones) often irritate sensitive skin. Some of the essential oils used in our formulas have preservation qualities, so there is no need to add additional preservatives. 

We have a very good reason for this. We chose a water base for our formulas. Water, together with the essential oils, are quickly and easily absorbed by your skin, facilitating quick relief. Another benefit of using water is that there will be no oily residue left on your skin, clothes or any other surfaces.

Yes. With the only active ingredient being pure, plant-based essential oils, in a water based, it is 100% natural guaranteed. Included in the qualities of the chosen essential oils are preservative properties, so there is no need for additional preservatives (if it was needed, we would only consider natural ones). 

skinSOOTHE is all about gentle relief. In order not to lose this quality, we decided against using any binding agents (even the most gentle, natural ones available) to “force” the essential oils to bind with the water. A robust shake before use will ensure the oils are dispersed evenly in the water before applying it.

Our ethically sourced raw ingredients might have subtle differences in scent, which are impacted by factors like where it is grown, rainfall and weather patterns, harvesting methods, and many more. Our naturally sourced products might therefor smell different from batch to batch.

Unfortunately not. There is no natural ingredient available that can provide sun protection in a water base.

The packaging is the only difference between the 2 ranges. The Smart range is packaged in aluminium, which provides you with a super convenient, super light, unbreakable version, with the same goodness inside. The Classic range, which is packaged in glass, offers a more cost-effective choice. 

Only pure, 100% natural, therapeutic grade essential oils, packed with medicinal benefits, are used to manufacture the skinSOOTHE products. Pure essential oils are extracted from plants through steam-distilled or cold-pressed processes. The beneficial medicinal properties of the plants are “captured” in the process. The alternative, plant-identical chemically produced synthetic oils, are created from artificial petrochemical components, with the same properties as that of the natural oils. It has not as yet been established how safe synthetic oils are for frequent and continuous use. Only a small percentage of synthetic ingredients have been verified safe for continuous and prolonged use. Synthetic ingredients (including the possible toxic and carcinogenic ones) have a chance to be absorbed by our bloodstream or lymphatic system through our skin. Once in our bodies, these chemicals tend to accumulate over time.

By harnessing the natural properties of pure plant-based essential oils, there is no need for the use of any harmful ingredients to improve the efficacy of our products. No artificial chemicals, colourants or fragrances are used. No alcohol, parabens or other chemical preservatives are used. No palm or mineral oils are used. No sulphates are used. No synthetic (plant-identical) essential oils are used. Only 100% natural, pure, plant-based essential oils are used to manufacture our products.

All our products should be safe for use during pregnancy, taking into consideration the percentages of the essential soils used in our formulation, but we are not doctors. Please check the quantities on our packaging and ask your doctor for professional guidance, just to be on the safe side.

It all depends on what you want to use it for. Refrigerate any of the products for a more refreshing, soothing or cooling application. The efficacy of the essential oils is not affected by the colder temperatures. You can keep a bottle of skinSOOTHE in the fridge or cooler box all the time for a cool, soothing or refreshing spritz, whenever required.

Our products are intended for out and about, on-the-go skin and body support. The packaging (amber glass and aluminium) will protect the essential oils from harmful UV rays, but it will be best not to leave your products in direct sunlight or extreme heat for long periods of time. To guarantee and extend their lifespan, store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, when not in use (your handbag will qualify for this)

Absolutely! Both the Classic and Smart range is packaged in easy to manage 100ml spray bottles for on-the-go skin and body support. The rapidly biodegradable, non-greasy application can be used anywhere, any-time, as it will not leave an oily or sticky residue on your skin, clothes, or any other surfaces, and will not cause any harm to the environment, wherever you are.

All options are intended to save you some money. For the Value and Combo packs, each product is still packaged separately in its own box with its own nozzle. These are discounted because you buy two. The Eco packs have one “complete” product with a nozzle, with extra bottles to either refill the main bottle (in the case of the smart (aluminium) range), or transfer the nozzle to the next bottle in case of the classic (glass) range. The discount on these are more than the Combo and Value packs, as less packaging, nozzles, etc. are shipped to you.

The skinSOOTHE packaging has been designed with repurposing, re-use and recycling in mind, resulting in 95% of the packaging that can either be repurposed, re-used or recycled. We still think the unbranded kraft boxes is a novel idea, as they can be repurposed as small storage containers for all those small things lying around and cluttering spaces.

Yes, without exception. Only pure, plant-based essential oils are used in all our products.
